Watching movies in high quality and with great sound in your own four walls… sounds great, right? With a little imagination and ingenuity you can achieve such an effect and feel like in a movie theater every day while watching your favorite series or movie. We suggest how to create a home theater
Film screenings are excellent picture and sound quality, as well as amazing and unique atmosphere. Why not create a similar place within your own four walls? Find out how you can create your own home cinema.
Creating a home cinema should begin with the designation of a suitable place for the cinema room. Ideally, of course, you should designate a separate room for this and then completely darken it, but rarely does space or budget allow for this. Another solution may also be to develop an unused basement or attic in the house
However, if you live in a block of flats, you might as well set up a home cinema in your living room or bedroom, but it will cost you a bit more creativity. First of all, you will need to darken the room, for instance by using day-night blinds or extra dark and thick curtains. You will also need to designate a piece of wall to hang the screen on, or paint the wall white so that it becomes a screen in itself
You also cannot forget about the typical cinema atmosphere. For this purpose, buy comfortable armchairs or large and soft pouffes and install a discreet light. Great work for example led lights on tape, the colors of which you can change by remote control. If you have enough space, you can also place a popcorn machine in your home cinema room, which will further emphasize the cinema character and atmosphere.
If you’ve already chosen your space, you can move on to the most essential element of home cinema, namely the projector. The basic criterion that should be taken into account in this case is the resolution. The most beneficial will be a projector with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels (WUXGA), which will allow you to adapt not only to high resolution content, but also those with an aspect ratio of 16:10. A Full HD projector will also be a good alternative. The contrast ratio of the projector is also important. For a home theater, as high a contrast ratio as possible is advisable, as it will make the image projected in the dark look much more favorable
In addition to the picture, the sound quality also plays a huge role. Therefore, when decorating your home cinema, it is essential to take care of the highest quality loudspeakers. Remember, however, that the number of speakers and their proper placement are also very important. To get the best effect, as close to the cinema as possible, you should place the purchased speakers in a triangular plan. How to do it? The head of the listener and speakers should take the shape of an equilateral or isosceles triangle. Ideally, the center speaker should be as close to the screen as possible. Position the front speakers so that they are pointed at a 45-degree angle to the viewer sitting in front of the screen. This will ensure that every sound effect is heard perfectly without having to change the volume
