Whether you are a professional athlete or an amateur who loves physical activity. Nowadays on the market you can find many devices that monitor the work of the heart and other organs. This allows you to increase your performance, as well as take care of your health during physical activity.

Monitoring gadgets that are useful during workouts

Nowadays, sports gadgets are basic equipment for anyone who loves exercise. These accessories allow you to monitor a number of parameters, such as the number of calories burned, distance traveled, training time or heart rate. The last indicator can be crucial for achieving the best results during various activities. Heart rate monitors measure maximum heart rate, target heart rate or resting heart rate, among others. Thanks to the monitors we can check how our body responds to exertion, as well as how to exercise in order not to exhaust our body. Check out which devices are worth investing in.

Smartwatch

Smartwatch is a device designed for every sports enthusiast. It allows you to measure many body parameters, including heart rate or even sleep. Keep in mind that recovery is an important part of training. Optimal sleep is a guarantee of better performance during physical activities. These devices are also capable of measuring blood pressure, and are equipped with a pulse oximeter.

Smartband

When looking for a suitable smartband, you may come across a name such as sports band or fitness band. This is an electronic device used to monitor the physical activity of its wearer. In addition to recording heart rate, this equipment reminds you of inactivity when it has been a long time since the last exercise.

HRM belt

The HRM Belt tracks heart rate during activities such as running, swimming and many others. The device monitors daily activity as well as calories burned, heart rate and time spent training throughout the day. The device consists of two components – a chest strap and a receiver located on the wrist. The display located on the wrist shows the user its parameters.

The belt allows more accurate measurement, and is especially recommended for more advanced people who have been training for some time. If you are going for a triathlon, the HRM belt will be an excellent assistant gadget. Women may complain about the belt solution due to their anatomy, but keep in mind that it is only worn during training after which it can be removed.

The belt connects to the wristband via Bluetooth, and there are also models available that use ANT+ technology, which is energy efficient. In both cases, it is necessary to remember to charge the battery.

Optical heart rate sensor on the arm

An interesting option, and also an alternative to smartwatches, smartbands and HRM belt, is an optical heart rate sensor. It can take the form of a wristband without a display. It is usually placed on the forearm or upper arm. The optical heart rate sensor on the arm works similarly to the HRM belt. It will help evaluate fitness, the effort put into exercise and our progress. It should be noted that it can be used as a standalone workout device, but it is possible to combine it with a smartphone app or smartwatch.
